Saving Abel

“We had to celebrate and be glad, because this brother of yours was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.”         Luke15:32

Abel arrived at the Bread of Life Orphanage in September, 2012 after his father had passed away. We were concerned to see how ragged and fragile he looked when he first came. To make matters worse he suffered from epilepsy. In some ways, all the children who come to us are special needs children. Abel, like the others, adjusted in time and began to flourish. His appearance, health, and outlook all improved. Our staff worked hard and is still working hard to get him caught up academically. He has become a normal healthy teenager who likes to help the staff with different jobs. The Bread of Life team really appreciates his eagerness to contribute. We are pleased to see how far he has come in all areas. He participates enthusiastically in Bible lessons that we have at the Orphanage and he wants to learn to play the guitar.

We wanted to share with you this update on Abel to show you how your involvement through Bread of Life is making a difference in the lives of one child at a time. Abel could have easily been one of the boys on the city streets falling into the hands of organized crime. Instead he is in a safe place working hard to improve his future. His is a success story which you helped to write.

Sponsorship at the Bread of Life Home is more than financial support—it is an act of faith that changes lives on both sides of the relationship. When sponsors step forward to pray for, mentor, and invest in a child, they become part of a story of hope, healing, and belonging.
