Prayer Requests

We want to thank you for supporting Larisa in prayer. Her skin surgeries to disconnect the united middle fingers on both hands went excellently. The right hand was done first to allow Larisa to complete her paperwork for the close of the school year, and then the left hand was done. She is recovering very well and is happy to look like any other child. She will not be embarrassed again due to her appearance. This is one of the ways we show God’s love by taking care of all the needs of the children …body, mind, and soul.

Please join us in prayer for our first international food delivery. We are preparing for our first donation to our Romanian brothers who live in Moldova in the coming weeks. Through you, God has blessed BOL to share the food we receive with His poor people in neighboring countries. We need divine guidance as we navigate the bureaucracy in this ex-communist country.

Recently Europe has been hit by massive rain. The town of Campeni, in Alba county, has been among the most severely hurt places. The flood was so intense that it took cars away and destroyed houses. After speaking with our local pastor, we learned that hundreds of people lost their homes on the poor side of the town. We want to encourage you to pray for them during this time. We are quickly putting together a shipment of aid with food, hygiene items, and clothing to send their way. We do not directly know many of these people, but they are God’s children, and we must reach out to them.

Thank you for your interest in Bread of Life Ministries. We have been able to accomplish a lot with the help of our supporters around the world. There is still more for us to do. There is something special about watching a child open a Christmas gift.  I have had the privilege of watching children receive Christmas shoeboxes many times over the years, but the excitement never gets old. A carefully wrapped box lands in their hands, and suddenly the air fills with anticipation and curiosity. Then you see smiles that seem to grow bigger with every item they discover. For some of these children, receiving a gift is not something they expect. They didn't earn it. They didn't do anything to deserve it. Someone they may never meet chose to give because they wanted that child to experience the joy of Christmas. Perhaps that is one reason these moments touch me so deeply.

From Hopelessness to a Purpose and Direction in Life

At the beginning of the journey, the word that best described these kids was helplessness. When you start life in an environment shaped by severe hardship, the future feels less like a promise and more like a threat. For the five young people in our community who graduated high school this summer, the starting line was a painful one. Behind their eyes lay realities too heavy for any child to carry: a girl who had to find her courage within an abusive family, and boys who grew up without the warm embrace of a mother. For them, education and finishing school seemed like a distant dream.
